What we do...
Being Human.... It's all about Trust
We are all so very different yet we mostly look the same - human. It's our behaviour that defines us, identifies us. Who is the real person we are trusting in, believing in? Ourself or someone else? Are we who we know we truly are or are we who we are told we are - and who did we listen to?
We can all lose ourselves after years of marriage and family. Self sacrifice is all part of the deal it would seem, but we owe it to ourself to re-establish who we are now especially if we are feeling something doesn't work for us anymore - we or others have changed but we can't understand what, who or how.
We can be forgiven for 'getting people wrong'. We bought a book with a catchy attractive cover, the back cover blurb sold us on a good story, the title & testimonials resonated to show it's 'a good read'. Then some way in we wonder if this story has any correlation at all to "the cover" that sold it to us...
These people walk amongst us, friends, family, colleagues and professionals - they derail our lives, change us in ways we wish they hadn't.
Who's in our 'Love Map'
We can all end up in the right place with good directions but what if we start from the wrong place and have great directions? We didn't know we started from the wrong place so ending up at the wrong place isn't a great surprise until we get there and then it's a shock.
We can still navigate to the right place but we will need to understand how we might have started from the wrong place to begin with to be able to redirect ourself.
Connecting to others is what makes us Human, we believe we are loved and cared about as an individual; we are born to labels that define us within a family that builds us in a community that moulds us, part of a world that extends from trusted establishments and profesionals we meet with and trust in to help and protect us to extended bodies of 'people' we trust "to run the world that creates rules we have to live by" but have little say over.
Who reads the Map...?
With so much technology to help us navigate our path, it's easy to program in a destination and be told where to go and assume the guidance is the best route, Take that navigation away and we are lost, we panic - some are too young to even know how to route plan a road map with a road atlas, can you even buy one now?
Life is no different, our Love Map defines our key navigators, they might be the reason our journey is so labouriously difficult at times.
Sometimes we have to stop the car and see if we are heading on a journey for ourself or for others... Our comfort zones may be easy but they aren't fulfilling - they're expensive motorway service stations. Full of distractions and reasons to stay when in reality we know the journey onward, whatever the weather condidtions, road distractions and passengers needs to be faced and sadly it might be better faced with a road atlas and common sense until we are sure where we are headed in our own minds.
